Product Description The CycleOps Magneto Trainer is a great way to keep your legs in tip-top condition during the off season. While many cyclists dread the indoor training season, ensuring proper bike set up will make any workout more comfortable and enjoyable. This trainer is the only CycleOps magnetic trainer with progressive resistance. The power band technology offers the widest resistance range--from easy spins to lung-burning climbs--without ever touching the unit. The trainer includes a training DVD to help keep you motivated during your indoor exercise.
Product Description The CycleOps Magneto Trainer is designed with PowerBand technology that allows resistance levels to vary with cadence or gear shifts. Centrifugal forces automatically adjust resistance via sliding magnets and springs.

Great Trainer! February 10, 2010 Jessica L. Mckenna (Grand Junction, COLORADO, US) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a great trainer; it's very quiet. Resistance settings seem adequate and would highly recommend the mat and climbing block. In addition to those I would highly recommend a trainer-specific tire for the rear wheel-not only for prevention of wear on the road tire, but it seems the trainer-specific tire has better grip/traction on the trainer itself.
Great for a few years January 12, 2010 R. Gutwin (VT) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this trainer a few years ago and spend the winters riding about 7 hours per week on it. The noise level was GREAT for the first few years, but it has recently gotten much louder and is almost impossible to hear any TV/DVD audio once riding it. My guess is that most trainers get louder after a lot of use, but I'm looking to replace it after a few years of use due to the noise issue.
CycleOps Magneto Review December 8, 2009 C. Feltz (North Dakota) It was easy to set up and is easy to use. It's a little loud, but if you have your head phones on, it's not a problem. It's a great form of exercise and I enjoy the ride.
Solid trainer, relatively quiet with good resistance. October 9, 2009 Rich F. (Philadelphia) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I picked one of these up as a display model (co-branded by Trek and Cycleops) at a local bike shop. The mounting is extremely easy, but as is the case with most trainers, you have to remove the quick release from your rear wheel and insert a new one to fit the trainers mount. Fortunately, you can also ride on it if you're concerned about going back and forth a lot, but I think for most people this is an "off season device."
It take about 10 seconds to mount the bike.
The resistance is based entirely on how fast you pedal, so using your bike's gears you can go from a light warm up to heavy grinding. The ride isn't quite like the road but it is relatively quiet, and like I said the resistance is strong enough to let you do some strength training in addition to cardio.
This is my first trainer, so I can't really compare it to anything else, but I'd definitely recommend it as an affordable option if you already have a decent bike.
Great Trainer, Easy Setup and storage. January 9, 2009 Scott Medley (Louisville, KY) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Throw the directions out... it will take you about 5 minutes to setup this trainer and get your bike attached. It is extremely easy to use and very quiet during rides. Great product, I would recommend it for beginners or more experienced roadies.
